Scott Douglas

As the child of a practicing accountant and private business owner, Scott has private business advisory coursing through in his veins. Commencing his career in Perth as a graduate within the finance team of a large private business, he moved into professional services with the Big 4 spending several years working in the corporate tax team providing advice to some of the largest listed and unlisted corporate taxpayers in Australia before focussing on private clients and relocating to Melbourne. Continuing his career with another member of the Big 4, Scott continued honing his skills before moving to a specialist BRW Top 50 accounting firm in 2016 after being drawn to the private business owner focus and approach to the client relationship. During this time, Scott was the trusted advisor and lead contact on several of the firm’s highest profile clients across many different industries including retail, construction, and manufacturing, bringing his broad experience and technical acumen to the fore.

As a Chartered Accountant and Chartered Tax Advisor, Scott is often sought out by colleagues internally for his opinion on matters and he brings an open and inquisitive mind to every conversation. Constantly striving for improvement, Scott will challenge the status quo and interrogate assumptions. With a strong track record of advising clients on business planning, profit improvement and providing transaction assistance, Scott aims to deliver services to clients that they want, value and need.

During his downtime, Scott together with his wife, Erika, tries to keep his two young daughters, Vivienne and Florence, entertained. He also enjoys a good BBQ cook-up and is an amateur baker.
