Case study:

A national organisation in the entertainment industry, operating multiple sites across Australia, recently undertook the Governance Review. Participation was excellent, with 36 of 49 staff (around 73%) taking part in the online diagnostic survey.

The results highlighted a number of strengths already embedded within the organisation. There was clear alignment between strategic goals and staff KPIs, a strong sense of ethical conduct across teams, and a workforce that felt engaged and connected to the organisation’s success. The brand was well recognised within its market, and the team demonstrated a strong understanding of the evolving needs of its audience.

At the same time, the review identified several areas where performance could be further enhanced. Technology systems were not fully integrated, creating inefficiencies in reporting and data sharing. Communication between head office and remote sites could be improved to build a stronger sense of connection across the organisation. There were also opportunities to refine how resources were allocated to achieve strategic goals more effectively, and to ensure remuneration remained competitive through regular benchmarking.

These findings gave the leadership team a clear roadmap for improvement. They were able to prioritise practical steps that strengthened communication, improved collaboration, and fostered a more unified culture. Over time, these initiatives led to better team cohesion and the launch of a broader systems integration project designed to deliver more timely and accurate financial information which ultimately improved decision-making across the organisation.
