Fifty professionals shared insights on recruitment, technology, growth and cross-border business.
Baumgartners led key sessions at the 2023 Alliott Global APAC Conference in Bangkok.
Hot topics included AI, economic shifts and opportunities in fintech, renewables and EVs.
Baumgartners Managing Partner, David Baumgartner, performed a key role at this year’s conference by leading the practice development discussion forum, sharing and comparing colleague experiences and challenges related to recruitment and retention, technology, staff welfare, raising fees and achieving growth.
“After the biggest Alliott APAC conference ever, Alex and I return to Australia excited by the fresh strategies and energy of the Alliott Group Alliance,” says David. “In Bangkok, we formed many new legal and accounting relationships with firms in our region and have renewed bonds with colleagues that have proved valuable over past years.”
Discussing the practicalities of doing business in the region, attendees from each APAC country informed the group about their jurisdictions on the advantages for companies setting up or restructuring, how to set up a company and start trading, as well as insider tips for a soft landing.
Each presenter also put forward information on business opportunities in dynamic areas of the economy such as fintech, IT, electric vehicles, food and beverage, carbon offsetting and renewables. During his session on Doing Business in Australia Baumgartners Partner, Alex Vrahos, said:
Australia offers a stable and attractive business environment with many opportunities for foreign investors. However, businesses need to be aware of the challenges that exist and take steps to address them. By understanding the cultural differences and building relationships with local partners, businesses can successfully enter and operate in the Australian market.
“Attending another Asia Pacific regional conference with global alliance partner, Alliott Global Alliance, is a key part of building our worldwide advisory capabilities and connections. Our capacity and experience in providing advice to businesses looking to expand their operations offshore remains a strength of our firm,” David added.
